Stormceptors and Oil-Water Separators
Stormceptors
A stormceptor is a stormwater quality treatment system that is designed to protect waterways from hazardous material spills and storm water pollution, including suspended sediment, free oils, floatables and other pollutants that attach to particles.
Used for: Floatables, trash and debris capture, spill control, sediment control, pretreatment for filtration, detention/retention systems and low impact development.

Oil-Water Separators
An oil-water separator (OWS) is equipment to separate oil and water mixtures into their separate components. They are most commonly installed in quick lube stations, transportation fueling facilities, vehicle/heavy equipment repair shops, parking garages, car washes, and parking lots. These are designed to slow down the wastewater, allowing oil to float to the surface and solid materials to settle before it exits into your drainage system.
Much like a stormceptor, you have to maintain on a regular basis to make sure the separator works correctly as well as preventing pollutants from entering local storm/sewer drainage system.
